Gregory P. Parsons
Greg Parsons is a Member of the firm in the Lexington office and a member of the Construction Service Group. Greg has represented construction and business clients for thirty-nine years. The construction clients he has represented include general contractors, owners, subcontractors and steel fabricators. He has also handled matters for various businesses, financial institutions, municipalities and universities. He regularly reviews, drafts and advises clients regarding construction contracts and other related agreements. Greg also counsels project participants on risk allocation, claim avoidance and resolution. He mediates disputes both as an advocate and neutral. He has litigated and arbitrated disputes involving various construction issues such as construction defects, design errors, delays, changes in scope and code compliance. He has handled construction/business litigation and arbitration matters in various jurisdictions, including Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, Minnesota, Connecticut, West Virginia, Texas, Georgia, Indiana, Florida, and the U. S. Court of Federal Claims in Washington, D.C. Greg is a member of the American Arbitration Association’s Panel of Construction Arbitrators.

Represented a steel fabricator in an arbitration involving suspension and termination for convenience claims.
Represented a coatings subcontractor in a lawsuit involving delay and re-sequencing claims on a large industrial project.
Served as co-counsel for a steel fabricator in a lawsuit involving the construction of a transportation facility containing over 6000 tons of structural steel, which resulted in the client receiving a settlement in excess of $10,000,000.
Arbitrated claims arising from construction of a large refrigerated distribution center.
Handled federal court construction case concerning a municipal sewage facility that involved construction defects and engineering issues.
Advised construction client regarding multi-million dollar claim for equitable adjustment and retainage.
Prepared and negotiated construction contracts for university-client's facilities.
Regularly review and advise publicly-traded company regarding its subsidiaries' contracts.
Advises clients regarding both design and construction master services agreements.
Served as co-counsel for a contractor in a multi-issue, multi-million dollar three-month arbitration involving a manufacturing facility resulting in a favorable award for client.
Obtained a summary judgment for a large general contractor against an owner awarding our client $1.5 million in damages including out-of-pocket costs, lost profits, and attorney's fees.
Won an arbitration award on behalf of a hotel owner against a contractor for negligent mispresentation regarding the construction budget and recovered substantial cost overruns, despite the fact that parties had a cost-plus contract with no guaranteed maximum price.
Represented a bank at trial resulting in a judgment of approximately $2 million in favor of our client that included an award of compensatory damages and treble damages, plus attorney's fees for claims of fraud, breach of contract, conversion and piercing the corporate veil.
