Dustyn B. Jones
Dustyn Jones is a Member in the firm’s Health Care Service Group. She devotes her practice to healthcare regulatory compliance, healthcare transactions, physician and hospital contracting, and practitioner/payor reimbursement and coding disputes. She frequently advises clients on regulatory issues related to the Stark Law, the Anti-Kickback Statute, EKRA, the False Claims Act, the No Surprises Act, HIPAA, and related state laws. She also advises on Kentucky health care facility and service licensure, reimbursement, and operations issues, with an emphasis on behavioral health services organizations and substance use disorder practices. She assists healthcare practices, individual providers, and hospitals with corporate transactions. Dustyn also has experience representing individual providers and practices on insurance and governmental payor reimbursement, overpayment, utilization, and coding disputes.

Surprise! The No Surprises Act Applies to All Cash-Pay Medical Services
The federal No Surprises Act (the “NSA”) requires all healthcare service providers to provide accurate and reliable cost estimates (Good Faith Estimates) to patients paying cash for services. The NSA’s Good Faith Estimate requirement has not received the media or industry press enjoyed by the balance billing prohibitions applicable to out-of-network (“OON”) emergency services providers, OON ancillary service providers at in-network facilities, and OON air ambulance providers, but may actually be the biggest surprise in the NSA.
