(image) LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Editors of the ABA Journal announced that Stites & Harbison, PLLC’s blog, Trademarkology, was voted as the #1 blog in the category of Intellectual Property in the publication’s eighth annual “Blawg 100” for 2014. Additionally, Trademarkology was listed as the #2 blog among the “Top 12 Awesome Law Blogs of 2014” by the legal news website Above the Law.
Trademarkology was created in November of 2013 and this is the first year the blog was eligible for recognition on the “Blawg 100” list. The goal of Trademarkology is to provide readers with insight and guidance regarding selecting a brand name or logo and protecting it with a federally registered trademark. It is in no way meant to replace legal services but to educate readers on a variety of current trademark issues.
“No longer to be confused as a fad or the realm of the tech-savvy, law blogs are rooted in the legal media landscape,” ABA Journal Editor and Publisher Allen Pusey said. “While traditional media sources often break news, law blogs dive deeper to offer insight into what the news means for clients, the legal profession and the public. They are sometimes-irreverent watchdogs of the bench and bar. And the ones on our list are well-written and, more often than not, entertaining.”
The ABA Journal is the flagship magazine of the American Bar Association, and it is read by half of the nation’s 1.1 million lawyers every month. It covers the trends, people and finances of the legal profession from Wall Street to Main Street to Pennsylvania Avenue. The ABA Journal’s Blawg 100 reviews nominations from readers on the top legal blogs and then selects the top 100 blogs before voting opens to readers for selecting a winner in 13 categories of law.
Above the Law provides news and insights about the legal profession as well as commentary on breaking legal developments. It is published by Breaking Media.
