Stites & Harbison's Doug Farnsley named president-elect of Kentucky Bar Association

LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Kentucky lawyers have elected two Stites & Harbison, PLLC attorneys to leadership roles in the Kentucky Bar Association (KBA). Doug Farnsley was elected president-elect of the KBA and Ken Gish, Jr., was elected chair of the KBA’s Environment, Energy & Resources Law Section. Both Farnsley and Gish took the oath of office at the recent 2014 KBA Annual Convention held in Covington, Ky. Their one-year terms began July 1, 2014.
Doug Farnsley is a Member (Partner) of Stites & Harbison based in Louisville, Ky. He previously served for six years as a member of the KBA Board of Governors, and he chaired the KBA’s highly successful 2013 Convention.
Farnsley focuses on civil trial work, including the defense of product liability claims and professional and hospital liability claims. He has more than 30 years of trial experience and has argued cases before state and federal appeals courts. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, and the International Society of Barristers. Farnsley’s other honors include: The Best Lawyers in America® (2007-2014) and its 2011 Louisville Product Liability Litigation Lawyer of the Year as well as 2010 Louisville Medical Malpractice Lawyer of the Year, and Kentucky Super Lawyers (2007-14) and its Top 50 Lawyers in the state list (2009-11).
Ken Gish is Counsel with Stites & Harbison based in Lexington, Ky. He previously served as the chair-elect for the Environment, Energy & Resources Law Section of the KBA. His practice focuses on complex facility permitting, renewable and alternative energy development, electric utility regulation, sustainability, hazardous waste remediation, compliance with regulatory requirements and environmental litigation.
Gish serves as vice-chair and board member of Bluegrass Greensource, a non-profit organization that provides environmental education and outreach services throughout Central Kentucky. He is also a member of the American Bar Association’s Water Quality and Air Quality Committees. Gish is named on Kentucky Super Lawyers’ Rising Stars list (2013-2014).
