Stites & Harbison welcomes four new associates

LOUISVILLE, Ky.—The law firm of Stites & Harbison announced today the addition of four new associates to the firm. One associate was added to the Louisville, Ky., office, two were added to the Nashville, Tenn., office, and one was added to the Alexandria, Va., office.
Assigned to the Louisville, Ky., office:
Brittany Cross is a member of the Torts & Insurance Practice Service Group. She graduated summa cum laude and Order of the Coif from the University of Kentucky College of Law, Lexington, Ky., in 2010. Cross was notes editor of the Kentucky Law Journal, Volume 98. Prior to joining the firm, Cross was a summer associate for Stites & Harbison in 2008 and 2009. She is admitted to practice in Kentucky.
Assigned to the Nashville, Tenn., office:
Kevin P. Hartley is a member of the Intellectual Property & Technology Service Group and the Business Litigation Service Group. He is a 2010 magna cum laude graduate of The University of Tennessee College of Law in Knoxville, Tenn. Hartley competed on the College of Law’s National Moot Court Team and National Trial Team. Prior to joining Stites & Harbison, he was a summer associate for the firm in 2008 and 2009. He is admitted to practice in Tennessee.
Christopher Brett Jaeger is a member of the Business & Finance Service Group. In 2009, he graduated Order of the Coif from Vanderbilt University of Law School, Nashville, Tenn. Jaeger was articles editor of Vanderbilt Law Review. He joined Stites & Harbison after clerking for the Honorable Duane Benton of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit. He is admitted to practice in Tennessee.
Assigned to the Alexandria, Va., office:
Mari-Elise Gates is a member of the Intellectual Property & Technology Service Group. She is a 2010 cum laude graduate of Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville in Louisville, Ky. She was a staff member and symposium editor of the University of Louisville Law Review and president and editor-in-chief of The Brand. Gates participated on the Trademark Moot Court Team, which swept the 2010 International Trademark Association Saul Lefkowitz South Regional Competition, winning three awards. The team advanced to the National Finals and won Third-Place Team Overall. Prior to joining Stites & Harbison, Gates was a summer associate for the firm in 2009. She is admitted to practice in Virginia.
