Stites & Harbison names three new Members; Two attorneys promoted to Counsel

LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Stites & Harbison, PLLC, announced today that three attorneys have been elected to membership in the law firm, effective Jan. 1, 2011. The new Members are: Jamie L. Cox and Mandy Wilson Decker from the Louisville, Ky., office; and Donna L. Roberts from the Nashville, Tenn., office. Two Associates were also promoted to Counsel: Demetrius O. Holloway and Jamie K. Neal, both from the Louisville, Ky., office.

Jamie L. Cox is a member of the firm’s Real Estate & Banking Service Group. She is also the co-chair of the firm’s Sustainability and Emerging Technologies Practice Group. She concentrates on commercial real estate development and leasing, commercial lending and corporate-related real estate issues. Cox is a LEED Accredited Professional. Cox is admitted to practice in Kentucky.

Mandy Wilson Decker is a Life Sciences Patent Attorney and a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property & Technology Service Group. Her practice focuses on patent-related aspects of intellectual property, including counseling clients on the creation, management, enforcement, and practice of intellectual property rights. Contributing to her practice is a scientific background in chemistry and experience with academic and commercial research in the areas of biochemistry, biotechnology and pharmaceutical sciences. Decker is admitted to practice in Kentucky and is admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Donna L. Roberts is a member of the firm’s Business Litigation Service Group. She concentrates her practice in the areas of business and commercial litigation. Her litigation experience includes a wide range of subjects with particular emphasis in the areas of complex commercial disputes, employment law, toxic tort and environmental defense and product liability. In addition to litigating commercial and tort-related disputes, Roberts also has deep experience in litigating non-compete and trade secret cases, and regularly defends companies against EEOC charges and lawsuits brought under Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA and FLSA. She is admitted to practice in Tennessee. She is currently President of the Lawyers’ Association for Women, Marion Griffin Chapter, and was recently identified as a "Rising Star" for the second year in a row by Mid-South Super Lawyers in the area of Business Litigation, an honor given to only 2.5% of lawyers in each region.

Demetrius O. Holloway is a member of the Employment Law Service Group and has both first and second chair trial experience. He represents employers in the defense of a variety of state and federal civil suits including Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA and common-law tort claims related to employment. He also has extensive experience in litigating non-competition and other restrictive covenant cases in both federal and state court. He also represents clients in the defense of civil suits involving personal injury, products liability, breach of contract and common law tort claims. Holloway is admitted to practice in Kentucky.

Jamie K. Neal is a member of the firm’s Torts & Insurance Practice Service Group and the Appellate Advocacy Team. She focuses on appellate practice and on defending product liability and professional malpractice claims. She has handled litigation on a variety of business liability issues, including intellectual property claims, premises liability actions and contract disputes. Neal is admitted to practice in Kentucky.
