Stites & Harbison elects three new Members to Management Committee


LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Stites & Harbison, PLLC recently elected three new members to the firm’s six-member Management Committee, replacing three attorneys who completed their terms of service. The new members are attorneys Janet Craig, Mandy Wilson Decker and Marjorie Farris; the members rotating off the committee include attorneys Lou Allen, Joel Beres and David Saffer. With the new additions, 50 percent of the six-member Management Committee are female attorneys.

Stites & Harbison’s Chair and the Management Committee serve as the firm’s board of directors and are responsible for all matters relating to the management of the firm. Members of the Management Committee are nominated for election by a Nominating Committee drawn from the members of the firm.

Janet A. Craig serves as chair of the firm’s Health Care and Insurance Regulatory Service Groups, and is experienced in certificate of need and licensure, reimbursement, managed care, fraud and abuse, HIPAA, and Stark I and II. Recognized by Best Lawyers in America®, and an AV-Preeminent® attorney as rated by Martindale-Hubbell, Janet is the former General Counsel of the Kentucky Department of Insurance.

Mandy Wilson Decker is a member of the Intellectual Property & Technology Service Group. As a patent attorney, her practice focuses on intellectual property protection strategy, including counseling clients on infringement, validity and patentability, transfer of intellectual property, patent drafting, and patent prosecution. Recognized by Managing Intellectual Property as an “IP Star” and rated as an AV-Preeminent® attorney by Martindale-Hubbell, Mandy maintains a scientific background in chemistry and has significant experience with academic and commercial research in the areas of biochemistry, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical sciences.

Marjorie A. Farris is an experienced trial lawyer and serves as co-chair of the Class Action and Multi-District Litigation Group. An AV-Preeminent® attorney as rated by Martindale-Hubbell and recognized for her work in the areas of commercial litigation and mass tort/class actions by Best Lawyers in America®, she has handled a wide variety of litigation ranging from products liability, insurance bad faith, ERISA, complex business litigation, and class actions. Prior to joining the firm’s Management Committee, Marjorie served as the Louisville Office Executive Member for the last three years.
