Stites & Harbison Attorney and American College of Trial Lawyer Fellow John Famularo Passes Away

LEXINGTON, Ky.—John M. Famularo, an active trial lawyer for more than 30 years, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2015. Prior to joining Stites & Harbison, John was Chief Judge of the Fayette District Court and also served as Assistant Attorney General in Frankfort, Kentucky for two years.
A highly regarded and admired attorney, John secured verdicts in more than 100 trials, successfully argued in front of the US Supreme Court, was a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers (an honor reserved for only the top 1% of trial lawyers in America), served on the Board of Governors of the Kentucky Bar Association, and was recognized by numerous legal honors including Best Lawyers in America®, Martindale-Hubbell®, Super Lawyers and Benchmark Litigation.
John always took an active role in mentoring young attorneys throughout his time at Stites & Harbison and set a precedence as to how lawyers should always act in a professional and courteous manner so as to represent their client and uphold the highest regards for the integrity of the court and the practice of law.
(image) Recently inducted into the UK College of Law Hall of Fame, John was active in recruiting some of the best and brightest law students to join Stites & Harbison, and he also served as an adjunct professor at the law school. John was a University of Kentucky Fellow.
John served his community as a member of the Board of Directors of Big Brothers/Big Sisters and as President of the School Board for Christ the King and Lexington Catholic High School.
John is survived by his wife, Karen, and his devoted children, Michael, Katie and Amy.
