Mari-Elise Paul Named a 2021 Trailblazer in World IP Review’s Diversity Publication

LOUISVILLE, Ky.—World Intellectual Property Review (WIPR) has named Stites & Harbison, PLLC attorney Mari-Elise Paul as one of 20 Trailblazers profiled from around the world in WIPR’s Diversity Trailblazers 2021 list.

WIPR publishes four times per year on current news and analysis on the challenges facing businesses and legal practitioners active in intellectual property. WIPR’s Diversity and Influential Women in IP publication celebrates the achievements of those making positive changes towards driving diversity and inclusion in the IP field.

WIPR’s 2021 Trailblazers include women with a decade or less of experience in the IP industry who have already made a significant mark on the IP industry and have made efforts to promote diversity and inclusion within the sector. Paul is a full-time attorney and mother of a daughter, a heart transplant recipient, who faced an extremely challenging first year of life. Paul’s goal is to serve as a role model for other women in the legal profession with medically fragile children who also want to thrive in the profession.

Paul is Counsel with Stites & Harbison based in Louisville, Ky. She specializes in IP clearance, acquisition, protection, management, and enforcement. Her practice involves intellectual property infringement and trade secret misappropriation litigation, drafting and negotiating agreements that include intellectual property and technology rights, and providing advice regarding data protection and privacy.
