Georgia Super Lawyers honors three Stites & Harbison attorneys in 2013

ATLANTA—Three Stites & Harbison attorneys in the Atlanta office were recently honored in the 2013 Georgia Super Lawyers magazine.
The attorneys named to the Super Lawyers list include: Donald R. Andersen, for the practice area of Aviation, R. Daniel Douglass for the practice area of Construction/Surety, and J.D. Humphries, III, for the practice area of Construction Litigation. All attorneys are members of Stites & Harbison and are admitted to practice in Georgia.

Donald R. Andersen is an experienced trial and appellate attorney and trained mediator. He is a member of the Georgia Bar and the Florida Bar and has represented clients in cases before the U.S. Supreme Court and other appellate courts and he has been lead counsel on aviation and product liability cases in state and federal courts throughout the country. Andersen is a licensed and active commercial, instrument and multi-engine rated pilot. He is one of only 32 attorneys to be certified by the Florida Bar as a specialist in the field of aviation law. He has also been a member of the Patent Bar for more than 35 years and regularly represents clients in patent, trademark, trade secret and intellectual property litigation. In the community, he is a founding officer and member of the Aero Club of Metropolitan Atlanta, active in Angel Flight of Georgia, which provides transportation for needy medical patients and their families, and regularly volunteers with the Metropolitan Atlanta Recovery Residences for men recovering from addiction.
R. Daniel Douglass is a member of the Construction Service Group. He has significant experience handling complex construction disputes involving multiple parties and expert consultants. He has represented contractors, subcontractors, owners, design professionals and sureties on public and private construction projects throughout the United States. He is past president of the Initiative for Affordable Housing Inc. board and is a member of the Garden Hills Civic Association.
J.D. Humphries III is a member of the Construction Service Group. He has advised, litigated, arbitrated, mediated, handled business transactions, mergers, and provided advice and consultation on a myriad of business and legal issues, including employment and union issues, for contractors, owners, sureties, design professionals, manufacturers, distributors, financial institutions, estates and fiduciaries, as well as individuals. He is a past president of The Atlanta Legal Aid Society, Inc., The Lawyers Club of Atlanta, The Lawyers Foundation, Inc., Atlanta Chapter of Washington & Lee Alumni Association, The Georgia Lacrosse Foundation, Inc., and the Atlanta Civil War Round Table, Inc. He is a member of the Old War Horse Lawyers Club and a veteran usher at the Cathedral of St. Philips.
