Education
More Than Stites & Harbison

Elizabeth A. Garrett is a Nashville native, born and raised. After graduating from Indiana University, Bloomington, in 1989 she attended Nashville School of Law and began practicing law in 2002. She began her practice of family law with her mentor, Bobby Jackson, until 2016 when she opened her own firm, Garrett Simmons Law.

Inspired by a moving keynote address by Bryan Stevenson and his emphasis of the power of being proximate to those who we can help, Elizabeth and two of her colleagues founded the non-profit Booked Not Bound – a Juvenile Justice Literary Initiative in 2018. The group conducts a monthly book club and provides a “Sunday Supper” each month with the youth detained in the Davidson County Juvenile Detention Center.
